A car repair shop converted into a gastronomic space where some of the most cutting-edge food trucks in the city come together in the same location.

It was in 1975 when this old car repair shop, located a few steps from Avenida de Aragón, the Babel cinemas and the old riverbed of the Túria, closed its doors. It reopened decades later -after the first months of the pandemic-, under the name El Garaje Foodie and with a totally renewed proposal. A total of 6 foodtrucks within the same 600 sqm. space, away from the limitations of the moment and reinventing the street food sector in the city.

“A new experience for the palate in which the street spirit and street food gastronomy merge in a groundbreaking space that recreates every last detail of an old repair shop,” they say from El Garaje Foodie.

«The long hours of work in the workshop are evident in every corner of the premises, with wear and oxide being the main protagonists of it. The tiled walls look like the passage of time and the varnished floor simulates grease and oil stains. The rough materials monopolize all the furniture, with a very aged finish, ”they add.

The result? Ceiling lamps with grids, chairs with metallic structures, rough wood tables, tiles with imperfect finishes and six historical collector’s vehicles from the 50s, 60s and 70s transformed into foodtrucks that make up an authentic time capsule where you can taste different gastronomic options. The Foodie Garage is always on the move, renewing its range of vehicles on wheels every year. With a street spirit, in addition to a sociable and cosmopolitan character, it has established itself with one of the most casual and recurrent options of Valencians in the last year.
