Given the need to shine a light to these projects, Mapa del Disseny was born. The live and in-progress cartography of València through its galleries, restaurants, museums, cafés, hotels, shops, creative spaces … The platform in which you can blend the momentum that, district by district, takes place throughout the city.

Make your own itinerary. Guide yourself with our Map filtering by neighborhood, by type of place, choosing between Spanish, Valencian and English and, of course, suggest new places so that we collectively create this great design map.

The project, promoted by València World Design Capital 2022 and Visit València in partnership with Agència Districte, will project the individual cases of dozens of venues organized -initially- through the districts of Ciutat Vella, Benimaclet, Extramurs, l’Eixample, Jesús , Patraix, Campanar, Poblats Marítims, Pla del Real or La Saïdia. And progressively through any enclave, both for its container and content.

Mapa del Disseny, the collective platform with design hot spots in Valencia

Designed as a reference guide for the local population and visitors, with a triple version in Spanish, Valencià and English, the Design Map will be structured based on three axes: a digital aspect -with a website for daily consultation-, a physical map in the offices and tourism of the city of Valencia and outside of Spain and a printed magazine distributed quarterly in different areas of the city.

The map itself will be a query cartography that will be expanded through collective participation, through a network of suggestions and questions that under qualitative criteria of València World Design Capital 2022 will reward the effort of the design made in València. A tool for each citizen to create their own design routes and fully understand the positive impact it has on the city. A tool that can grow over time to become real routes to visit through the city of Valencia, emphasizing the use of design as a discursive tool.
