From its earlier use as headquarters to the Alinghi sailing team during the America’s Cup, it has been converted into a large hall dedicated to creativity and innovation.

The Base, whose surface area almost covers a city block, stopped housing sails to become a chameleonic setting. The visual art of urban artist Hyuro covers one of its main façades, a work of identity commissioned by the Valencian agency CuldeSac. In the painting, dozens of people seem to walk intertwined. Inside La Base, these same paths often cross at public events, as a forum for debate, an exhibition hall, art store, corporate headquarters, or even as an unscheduled meeting point.

It falls within La Marina de València, the strip of land that acts as a hinge between the city beside the sea and the city beyond the water.
