Although the construction of this market was approved well in advance, its works did not begin until 1914 by architects Alejandro Soler March and Francisco Guardia Vidal, ending in 1928 by Enrique Viedma and Ángel Romaní.

Today it is one of the most emblematic landmarks in the city, located between the Lonja de la Seda and the Real Parroquia de los Santos Juanes.

With more than 8.000 sqm with an imposing metal structure, the Central Market receives on a daily basis thousands of locals and tourists alike, who come to this place for a visit, buy at some of its stalls or taste the local cuisine.
